The Institute was established in Sept, 1941 by the great social reformer Hon'ble Baburaoji Ramchandra Gholap and his colleagues with a vision and mission 'Bahujan Hitaya Bahujan Sukhay' (well-being of all and welfare of all ). The prime objective behind starting this educational Institute was to provide educational facilities to poor people , especially in the rural areas of Pune Districts. The year 1990 - 91 was celebrated as the Golden Jubilee year by the Institution. It is a leading educational Institution in Maharashtra. It was to its credit pioneering efforts in various fields. Pune District Education Association has under its management-05 Pre-Primary, 05 Primary Schools, 53 Secondary Schools, 07 Subsidiary Schools, 25 Junior College, 1 Polytechnic, 24 Vocational Training Courses, 07 Degree Colleges , 01 Pharmacy College, 01 Engineering College, 02 Institution of Management, 01 Ayurved College, 01 Student Hostel, 01 Low College and 01 College of Education (Diploma).

    It should be noted that the fast development of PDEA, qualitative and quantitative, in the last two decades is an outcome of the great effort taken by Hon’ble Prof. Ramkrishana More - The President of PDEA and former minister of Maharashtra State. The greatest achievement of our Institution is that it has been awarded ‘Best Educational Institution Award’ by the Government of Maharashtra in the year 2000.
